Point of View

I was unable to participate in classes last night and tonight due to an injury I inflicted on myself during Monday's class. It's nothing serious, I just wrenched something in my back a little bit and just needed a couple days recuperation time to make sure I don't do something stupid and make it worse. With this, I was given a unique opportunity.

The opportunity was to watch my peers practice Kung Fu from the side bench. Observing the foot movements coupled with the strikes, analysing the way each student goes about their movements, it's really neat. I was also able take pointers from each of them to improve my understanding of my own techniques. I got the chance to get a different point of view for a change.

So I thought, stepping back and looking at things you do in everyday life could be a great benefit. People sometimes get caught in what they're doing so much that they don't see and recognize what it is they're actually doing. I am, of course, speaking about myself big time in this respect. But this is something that is being addressed as I progress in my Kung Fu training.

So I will continue to recover and contemplate the lesson I learned this week. I will be back on the mats possibly on the weekend, definitely next week. See you all out there!
